This update for the Playstation 3 brought along what gamers on the system wanted from day one when they implemented the trophy system: automatic trophy syncing. There was some other stuff too but this by far was the highlight of the update. Initially I thought that the auto syncing to the server was limited to the member of Playstation Plus: however, I got a few trophies since the update and didn't have to sync to the server because the third party gamercards I had were up to date with the latest trophy info. I am also not a Playstation Plus subscriber.
This was a good update for the system although what took Sony so long in implementing this much needed feature? We will never know.
UPDATE: It turns out the auto trophy syncing is limited to PSN+ members only. For me that's a bummer because I'm not a subscriber of PSN+. So most people still need to sync to the servers manually.
