Playstation: goodbye to a great system

Sony is finally pulling the plug. The regular playstation, or PSOne, in circulation for about ten years and could be thought of as a rival to the N64 is being shelved. It is second in terms of shelf life with the Atari 2600 lasting from 1979-1991 a period of twelve years.. The PSOne was my second system (SNES being the first) and had over twenty difference games. My first game was Road Rash (although I never beat it.) It was where the Megaman genre expanded, (the Legends games), where Gran Turismo got its start among others. It brought about numerous sports games and franchises; some that still exist and some that failed (989 sports in the latter category.) It was one of the first systems that had better graphics for its time and it took some of those loyal to nintendo. (Most went PSOne while the others stuck with nintendo) The PSOne lead the way and started a battle for console supremacy with the PS2 now leading the way. The PSOne set the foundation for gaming everywhere. It implemented the Dual Shock controller which is the tablesetter for great gaming. Because of its achievements, PSone is one of the greatest systems of all time and it will not be forgotten.
