I was watching my local Fox affiliate and heard a news story about Grand Theft Auto (who else)?
Apparently, a mother of all child is suing Sony, THQ, and Rockstar because she claims it influenced her child into killing his stepmother, stepfather, and his stepsister. I shook my head after hearing this. Not because the child killed those people (I was surprised by that), but because another person is suing a video game company over something that is the parent's fault in the first place. Didn't this lady watch what happened when another person tried to sue Midway over NFL Blitz? She lost her case and that case is more weirder than this one. For one, parents need to show some responsibility for their child's actions. If bad repercussions occur because of the game you bought for them, that is not their fault. You should know the limits of your child and set limits iif need be. Don't whine to Sony or another big company because of something you did. You would look more stupid in court because I'm a little certain that the case will be quickly rejected. And kids aren't black holes. Don't give in to them. Resist the temptation. Don't get sucked into their tantrums and stand your ground. If you don't, you will end up like these people who try to sue over something that is really your fault. It is not worth it. Save yourself the trouble and get control of your kids.
