Bejeweled 2 review
Bejeweled 2 for PSN is your basic puzzle game. You match no fewer than 3 gems together to clear those gems. If you match 4 gems, you create a power gem which in turn can be combined with more than power (or regular gems) to detonate other gems in the vicinity. Five gems destroyed at once create a hypercube. A hypercube, when matched with other gems, destroy all gems of the same type off the screen. Chains are a good way to get a high score. Chains are when you clear consecutive groups of gems. The four starting modes are classic (standard play), endless (you play on an infinite board. A nice way to end the day, in my eyes.), action (you try to clear the board while timed) and puzzle (you must complete a comet and there are boards to clear on each comet). There are trophies in this version and 4 of the trophies also unlock new modes when you do certain feats. This version is ported from the PC, so if you have one version, there really is no need for this one; it plays the same. One little gripe is that I wish there were custom soundtracks because even though the music is nice, it does get old after awhile. That said, if you want this game, I recommend it for the puzzle enthusists out there. $9.99 off the PSN store. If you unsure about this game, there is a demo to try. The demo comprises of the first four levels in classic mode. Otherwise, have fun. This is a good game for people of all ages.
