Super Mario Kart Wii review

I'll start out by saying this. I didn't get a lot of play time with this game as I thought I would. That being said, I was kinda disappointed with this iteration of Mario Kart. Sure it has your traditional modes and cc speeds but something just click with me about this game. There are multiple configurations you can use, although the wheel was emphasized the most. Honestly, the wheel was actually the worst thing you can use. Having played the racers in arcades, I thought it would be a little heavier. Overcompensation of turns was the name of the game when I tried using this. The wheel felt too floaty for me.

The gameplay is the same: win races, use powerups to get an advantage and in later iterations get rewards for doing so. Standard fare here. The introduction of motorcycles are a nice add but they take a long time to master. I use these a couple times but I stick to the standard cars.

Overall, this game was average. It's not fantastic but not horrible. I am still quite partial to the original Mario Kart on the SNES. The later iterations felt too kiddy for me; then again I am not the target demographic. Again this is my perspective; yours may differ. Have fun.
