This update took away something. On the older systems (the phat models if you will), the ability to install another operating system on the PS3 was taken out. For most people, this was Linux. Sony said the reason for the update was security reasons. In actuality, who used Linux on their PS3 anyway? A wasted update. But you must update if you want the PSN services. So do it. I'm still waiting for the auto trophy-syncing update. If it ever does come.
