This game is the latest in the God of War series. If you played God of War II, you will be familiar with the story because this is where the game starts off. Your only mission is to kill Zeus and Kratos won't stop at anything to get his vengeance later. However for a guy wanting revenge, the end was absolutely awful.
When I first played the demo, I had to get used to the graphics because they are vastly different than its predecessors. The only bad thing I incurred throughout the game was my trouble with chests and the save points. I felt that the game was a little too finnicky with that. Like you kind of had to match pixel for pixel. The weapons are ok and I preferred the other weapons over the Blades of Exile. The BoE are the blades you are familiar with from previous games. Another gripe I have is with the Rage of Sparta. You can call it easily by pushing the thumbsticks together. However, you tend to fly wildly whenever you push buttons to try to string together combos. Personally, I prefer the Rage of the Titans over this and the Rage of the Gods over that. So you can guess that the Rage powers, according to me, have gotten worse. Also with RoS, you use the blade of Olympus which is a bit of a downer.
There are a ton of boss fights but not are challenging. As a result, there are far fewer puzzles. There are all against Gods but there is one I wouldn't consider a boss fight (if you played the demo, you know which one I'm referring to.). Every boss you kill does something to the environment around you and is easily noticeable. I like to see that in the game.
The soundtrack is far weaker in the game than in previous games. Again, the first GoW had the best soundtrack. The music fit the game somewhat but it just didn't click with me this time around,
Overall I enjoyed the game and is a good possible end to the series. I myself would wait to buy the game and finish attempting to platinum the game (I rented over the weekend). But if you don't have the game yet, buy it. You won't be disappointed.
