Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard review

This game is quite interesting. Not only is it an action game but an action game that parodies other games. You start out as Matt Hazard, a guy who is trying to get back into the game scene. The company he was working for is out to get him. As Hazard, you must try to take out the boss leader. Sounds simple? It kinda is.

There is a lot of comedy in the game which is its strong point. If you are a person who has played any game in their lifetime, you can recognize some of the references (from a Mario like character sliding down a pipe to a Sephiroth looking character that you must fight). Sprinkled in between is a 3rd person shooter that works. There are upgrades for yourself: fire and ice, a shield upgrade and an upgrade that lets you be stronger for a good amount of time. The levels are very long but are not too difficult. You have plenty of enemies to kill so the trophies/achievements won't be hard. There are some quicktime events but not too much. Controls are simple enough that anyone can grasp it. There is a tutorial at the beginning to help out.

The game is a good game, by no means a great game. If you want an easy game to platinum (or get 1000 easy gamerscore in), this is it. You will get the majority after your first run and this game is cheap now if you want to buy it. It's Hazard time.
