FPS: Live the Action

Like its 2D predecessors, first-person shooters, or simply FPS's for short, are becoming the norm in most video games. You see what the character sees and it is an interesting concept. I think it is fun but at times it can be frustrating. Those used to third-person should at least give first-person a shot but don't stick to it. Sometimes when you play in FP you lose your sense of direction plus it is harder to control since you must control both analog sticks. A plus side is that you are thrusted close to live action and you don't get that in third-person. For example in a Tom Clancy game in FP you can probably see blood splatter when you break his neck and you don't get that in third person. The Doom series is best at FPS's. You are traveling in the game all in FP and you are able to see the best (or worst) in graphics as enemies are killed and blood splatters all over the place. It can be the best feeling of a killing spree (or the worst nauseating, depending on how much you can handle.) All in all, it is good idea for those who live for action, but for the more subtle (like me) , stick to the third person genre.
