NFL Blitz: still one of the best games ever

NFL Blitz was one of the games that got away from the traditional style of NFL play. If you wanted a different way to play or break out of the mold, this was the game for you. It allowed for aggressive play such as getting rid of penalties, unsportsmanlike conduct hits and always going for it on fourth down. The rating could be questioned as there was little violence that went along with the hits. It was rated E for everyone. Blitz was in trouble after a 9 year old who bought the game had played it and the mother watched. Midway, the maker of the game, was sued and as a result the game is no longer made and a new rating called E10 (everyone 10 and up) was created. My thought is that this was the kid's/parent's fault. If you turn a game over and look on the right side of the cartridge you will see the rating along with what it was rated for (i.e. mild violence, suggestive themes) EA brought the game back with a different look called NFL Street. It is better looking and I like the way it plays but part of me still yearns for the classic style of NFL Blitz football.
